This is my first time blogging, so I'm not exactly sure what to write! I suppose I will begin with a bit about myself. I'm a nerd. A very adventurous one.
I pretty much do or go to anything I'm invited to do. That's what got me into traveling, backpacking, inline hockey, soccer, running half marathons and shortly it will be getting me into a book club. Which is great, its been a while since I've been totally immersed in the fantasy world of a book. Now just to find a way to fit it into my may other commitments... I've been attempting to read Dune(since it's the "Greatest Sci-Fi novel of all time") for the last year or two, so I'm a little discouraged. But maybe these new books will get a deeper hook in me. Or the impending "due date" of the next meeting will light a fire under me.
The first meeting is Friday, but I'm a procrastinator and just joined the club yesterday! I'm a little disappointed because I have heard of the first book, The Other Boleyn Girl. I'm sure next months book will be good too, The Comfort of Lies, but I've never heard of it.
If anyone has read both, let me know if I should read both or just move on to the Comfort of Lies. I think I'll try to finish Dune first... better get crackin'! I've decided to adventure into the local library and check it out. I haven't been in a library since college though, so this could be interesting. I love the smell of books! So my nerdy side is a little excited :-)
